Lawrence was born in Hucknall where he lived all his life. He attended the National school and later
grew to be a painter and decorater by trade,untill he recieved his call-up papers to join the army
and serve his country fighting in the World War 11..where he was forced to leave his now wife Gladys
behind. Although managed to finally marry her later on..During his time in the army he fathered his
first child with Gladys but due to being in the forces wasnt able to see her for 18months until his
return. He went on to have five daughters in all,Maureen,June,Ann,Lynn and Karen. Also returning to
employment he worked at linby pit untill his retirement in 1978. He was a very honest
hard-working,well respected man that was loved by all..Rest in peace xx
